These quality currants are fairly easy to identify. They should be uniform, blue-black in colour. The fruit should bewell rounded, soft and fleshy, with thin velvety skin and of uniform size.
Currants are the richest dried fruit source of vitamin C and a great source of vitamin A as well as an excellent source of the minerals: calcium, iron, phosphorous, potassium andsodium and also contains B-complex vitamins B2 and B5.
